Wolf’s Fuel Oil – Custom WordPress Build with Easy Content Management
Wolf’s Fuel Oil has been serving the York Springs area since 1947, providing fuel for local farms and residential customers. Their core offerings include off-road diesel and non-ethanol gasoline, with a strong reputation for reliability no matter the order size.
This project came through a referral from E & B Transportation, who needed multiple websites launched—starting with Wolf’s Fuel Oil.
Simple Site, Built to Be Easy to Manage
For this one, the goal wasn’t anything overcomplicated—it just needed to work, look professional, and be easy for their team to update.
I set up a clean WordPress install and built a custom theme tailored to their needs. One of the main requests was the ability to update fuel prices directly on the website without touching code.
To solve that, I used Advanced Custom Fields to add editable fields right inside the homepage editor. Now their staff can:
- Update fuel prices
- Save changes
No digging through settings, no risk of breaking anything.
I also recorded a quick walkthrough video so their team knew exactly how to manage it moving forward.
Launch, Tracking & Security
Once development was complete, I handled the full migration over to their hosting environment at HostGator.
After launch, I set them up with:
- Google Search Console for visibility into search performance
- Google Analytics for traffic tracking
- Security hardening using SolidWP
- Ongoing uptime monitoring as part of my standard setup
Real-World Results
This isn’t a high-maintenance site—and that’s kind of the point.
It runs quietly in the background, requires minimal updates, and consistently brings in new customer inquiries through the website.
That’s a win.
The Bigger Picture
Not every project needs to be complex.
Sometimes it’s about building something simple, reliable, and easy for the client to use—then getting out of the way while it does its job.
And if they ever need to expand or update things down the road, I’m already familiar with the setup and ready to jump back in.
