Re-Platforming from Magento to WooCommerce
Prior to working with MAjor Designs, the website had been migrated to Magento by another firm. After several years on the platform, the decision was made to move away from Magento rather than upgrade to Magento 2.
At that point, I led the transition to WooCommerce, providing a more flexible and manageable solution.
This included:
- Full re-platforming from Magento to WordPress/WooCommerce
- Development of a custom WooCommerce theme built from scratch
- Maintaining the existing design and brand consistency during the transition
The result was a faster, more user-friendly website that was easier to manage and expand.

In addition to integrating ShipStation for streamlined order fulfillment, I developed a custom WordPress plugin to handle shipping calculations based on SKU rather than traditional weight or dimensional rules.
This custom solution allows for:
- Accurate shipping costs based on product-specific logic
- Seamless order flow from WooCommerce to ShipStation
- Efficient packing and fulfillment workflows
